Born in Lagos, Nigeria, the home of afrobeat’s and raised in Liverpool, the birthplace of The Beatles, Yetunde blends an eclectic mix of musical styles to cultivate a sound that is completely unique to her. Taking inspiration from some of the world’s best musical artists including The Beatles, Destiny’s Child, Fela Kuti, Amy Winehouse and Stevie Wonder, Yetunde’s versatile writing style allows her to deliver powerful lyrics sung in melodies that draw the listener in before they even know it. To her, song writing is as much an art as it is a science.

Growing up not only in a musical family, but also a musical city meant that Yetunde’s love affair with music was inevitable. Aside from singing in her church choir from a young age, she also sang lead in her Father’s Afrobeat band during her teen years whilst writing lyrics to his music compositions. Through her many years of performances across the UK and abroad with the band, she quickly began to realise the power of a well written and arranged song on its audience. This equally ignited her passion for performing and putting pen to paper purposefully later on.

Yetunde has also flexed her song writing muscles on two songs she penned for an American based international company. She was approached to write the song “We Change Life” titled after the company’s own mantra. She studied the company carefully and also had the opportunity to interact with its many highly motivated and just all-round incredible employees which allowed her to develop the concept for the song and its lyrics. Working with her father, Olu Olaseinde, they put together a truly moving production for the song. The lyrics focus on the importance of remembering the true measure of success; the ability to help and teach others and recognising that the world needs all of us to make a difference. The second song, titled “Why Not Me” focuses on the realisation that there is no limitations in this life that we cannot overcome when we truly have a dream. Yetunde Has also had the opportunity to perform both songs at events held by the company both in the uk and america to huge crowds of over 800 people each time with great reactions from the crowds. Both songs can be listened to via the music player on this website.
